Open to Grades 1-5*

 

*ALADDIN JR. IS AN ENSEMBLE-HEAVY PRODUCTION, WHERE STUDENTS WILL BE FEATURED IN MANY LARGE, MUSICAL NUMBERS AND GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO ACT, DANCE AND SING. 

 

EVERY STUDENT WHO AUDITIONS AND REGISTERS WILL RECEIVE A ROLE, AND BE EXPECTED TO LEARN THEIR LINES, SONG LYRICS AND DETAILED CHOREOGRAPHY*

 

**There MAY be additional ensemble opportunities for students in younger grades to join us later in the program.

As we did last year, Friends of Rosewood will be applying for a grant to supplement the cost of the program - allowing us to offer sign ups at a much reduced price than neighboring community theater programs while also teaching our cast important lessons on supporting one another and how to work together as an ensemble.

 

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE:

Rehearsals to take place on Mondays after school, 2:50-5PM, in the auditorium

Students will be expected to be in attendance at all rehearsals (unless prior permission is requested) as well as attend a full tech week leading up to the show date, and perform 2 shows.

 

Audition Date: Monday, September 28 at 2:50 in the auditorium

FINAL PERFORMANCES:

Saturday, January 30, 2027 - there will be both a matinee show and mid-afternoon performance

 

PRICING: $325 per child*** 

$50 Sibling discount available for families enrolling multiple kids

(if you need to arrange a payment plan, please let us know)

***Your performance fee includes a guaranteed role in the show for your child, access to the script, music files (with and without vocals), and a four-month-long program that includes acting instruction, performance skills development and a professionally produced show including lighting, props, sound and costumes.

All registrants will also receive a cast T-shirt.

The entire production will be curated through Friends of Rosewood.***

WHAT TO BRING EACH WEEK:

  • Copy of printed script (please bring a pen/pencil to mark your script with stage directions/blocking)
  • A bottle of water and after-school snack (please pack extra food or join our cast snacks committee - the kids get VERY hungry during rehearsals as they're burning off a lot of energy)
  • Closed toe shoes
  • Patience 😊

WHAT TO EXPECT: 

All registrants must sign (and agree to) the cast agreement, which includes granting our team the right to take photos during the rehearsal process.

Every child who registers will be emailed audition materials to prepare for the audition date, and be expected to sing one song and perform one scene - scenes can be performed together with classmates. We will give each student time to review the material at the start of the auditions plus play theater games, and then we will begin. NOTE: We are NOT looking for professional auditions and understand that for many students, this will only be their first or second time getting on stage. We just encourage students to give it their best shot! What we are looking for is: can they memorize and follow a tune, can they take direction, can they portray a character, etc. 

Please note: rehearsals are closed to parents other than the production team.

However, we do encourage parents to get involved as the show progresses. More info will be shared with families on how you can help our team.

 

Students will be given a full copy of the script to bring with them each week which they will mark up as they learn stage directions and choreography. Please help your child remember their script on any rehearsal day (and to bring it home after to review). On occasion, emails will be sent out alerting parents/guardians what we are working on or asking students to review videos that were captured during rehearsal to help students review dances they have learned. We thank all our parents in advance for your support in showing these videos to your student, as requested.

 

 REFUNDS: 

By enrolling your student, the parent/guardian gives their consent for the student to attend and participate in this program. If you cancel your registration within 3 days prior to the start of the program on September 28, you will be entitled to a full refund. If you cancel after the program has started within the first week only, you will receive a 50% refund, less any online service fees incurred. Unfortunately, we will not be able to issue refunds after one week - with the exception of uncontrollable circumstances to be reviewed on a case by case basis as approved by Friends of Rosewood.
