Board Nomination Form 2026-2027

Nominations for the Friends of Rosewood Board and Volunteer Committees Are Now Being Accepted!

SEE BELOW TO SUBMIT YOUR NOMINATION FORM

Friends of Rosewood is a volunteer-based, non-profit booster club consisting of both parent and teacher volunteers who work together to provide financial and activities support for programs that are typically NOT covered by the school’s official budget. Parent involvement is critical for any successful school and Friends of Rosewood is dedicated to helping to enrich our children’s overall elementary school experience, so please consider volunteering as either a Friends of Rosewood officer or committee chair for 2026-2027.

Join us – it’s rewarding and the work we do here is important! Our goal is to have at least one representative for every grade. What does being on the Board mean?

  • Some positions require no more than a couple hours at a time, some committees are seasonal and only a handful of roles (namely the officers of the Board) require a routine commitment.
  • Every Board member is expected to lead at least ONE committee. But not every committee member must be on the Board -- if being on the Board is too much of a commitment for your schedule, you can simply commit to one seasonal activity for the school year
  • Primarily, joining the Board means you are agreeing to meet with the other Board members regularly to discuss upcoming school initiatives, fundraising and events. We meet in person (and on Zoom for those who need to stay at work/work from home) once a month and communicate regularly via email and text threads in between meetings, as needs arise.
  • Board members must also be able to attend the majority of school events throughout the year. Simply attending meetings is not enough; we need active, dedicated participation in supporting and serving our school community.

Nominate yourself today or someone else at school whom you believe would be a strong leader for Rosewood. We’re looking for dedicated, innovative individuals who are ready to help make our school the best in the district. Committee positions are located near the bottom of this form -- Board roles can be shared, and there are also committee opportunities available for those looking to get involved in a more flexible way. More hands means a stronger impact and less burnout for everyone. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at hello@friendsofrosewood.org

Nomination for President

President/Co-President (up to 2) – Serve as the leader and key contact(s) for our organization; preside at all BOOSTER CLUB meetings, ex-officio member(s) of most committees, appoint chairpersons for special committees, and coordinate the work of the officers and committees so that the BOOSTER CLUB’s objectives can be met. (Effort: year-round, ongoing)

Vice President - Act as an aide to the President; perform the duties of the President in the absence or inability of that officer to serve, assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Board, help recruit committee chairpersons for all vacant standing committees of the board, and coordinate the general activities of any Special Committees created by the Executive Board. (Effort: year-round, time varies depending upon roles)

Secretary - Keep the minutes of all general meetings and all meetings of the Executive Board; prepare correspondence and perform other duties assigned while maintaining master documents on Board drive/school database. Also, keeps the calendar of events for the BOOSTER CLUB. (Effort: 3-4 hours per month, includes attending meetings and typing up minutes)

Treasurer - Be responsible for and have custody of all funds, make disbursements as properly authorized, be present at all BOOSTER CLUB events where money will be collected, ensure that BOOSTER CLUB policies and best practices are followed with regards to funds, prepare financial reports for each meeting and as needed, and prepare the books for an annual audit. (Effort: 4-5 hours per month, on average)

Board Members at Large (Up to 8 people) – Attend meetings and actively participate in at least one Committee. This is the ideal role for those parents who want to be actively aware of the goings on of the BOOSTER CLUB, but cannot commit to a more formal Board position. (Effort: varies)

Many of our families are unable to maintain a full-time Board volunteer position, but would love to volunteer in other ways. Please sign up for the committees that most interest you.

Please select all of the following volunteer committees that sound appealing. Our Board will follow up with you at a later date to begin coordinating efforts. As part of a committee, the expectation will be for you to meet separately and have one representative present ideas at a future Board meeting.

NOTE ABOUT OFFICER POSITIONS/COMMITTEES: The Board of Directors for Friends of Rosewood is comprised of elected officers, committee chairs, and school representatives. The Board meets once per month to conduct BOOSTER CLUB business. Any parent may attend these meetings. General meetings for the entire membership are scheduled twice per year: once in the Fall to approve the budget, and one generally held in May/June to elect the officers for the following year.
